Robert Rosenberg Addresses African Development Bank Group
TYSONS, VA, June 1, 2025 — On May 31, 2025, NTELX CEO, Robert Rosenberg, participated on a panel hosted by the African Development Bank in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire as a part of the Bank’s 2025 Spring Meetings.
The panel convened deputies representing 29 donor countries to the African Development Fund to focus on Private Sector Development in AfDB-focused countries. A diverse group of private sector actors from various industries joined the panel to share perspectives on investing in Africa, challenges and opportunities encountered, and how the African Development Bank and its concessional arm (African Development Fund – ADF) can enhance its support to private sector players.
Rosenberg shared information on NTELX’s work on a freight logistics and truck coordination system for the port of Abidjan and discussed the importance of how infra-tech solutions can accelerate and increase the ROI of infrastructure projects. The emphasis of Rosenberg’s presentation was on the imperative of developing fundamental infrastructure services as part of development, and the importance of private sector participation in developing those solutions.
“It was my pleasure to speak at the annual meetings of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) to discuss the importance of supporting Private Sector initiatives in this changing landscape especially with leveraging technology to enhance and accelerate logistics infrastructure initiatives,” said Rosenberg.
The panel was led by Solomon Adegbie-Quaynor, Vice President, Private Sector, Infrastructure & Industrialization at African Development Bank Group, who said,
“Given the current global context, the role of private sector in delivering on these development priorities has become accentuated. This was an excellent opportunity to intimately share with ADF deputies the opportunities and challenges for the private sector to scale-up in these countries, and how the ADF could catalyze such scale-up. This was a very stimulating discussion which will serve as critical inputs into the design of our support of private sector in ADF countries.”
Also participating in the discussion were:
Ms. Patricia Poku Diaby, Chair, and Ms. Tidanke Diaby Sidibe, CEO, of Plot Enterprises Ltd, a cocoa processing company in Cote D’Ivoire and Ghana;
Mr. George Okala, Group CFO of ARISE IIP, a private sector led developer of agro-industrial parks in several countries;
